The Millhouse at East Fork Farm is tucked into the heart of the farm in the upstairs of our fully functioning gristmill. Relax in the cedar hot tub on the deck while the flume and waterwheel mesmerize you. This storybook setting is the perfect getaway for couples.
About the Cottage
Stephen’s long term goal of the farm was to setup a waterwheel and gristmill operation. This process started about 4 years ago with the waterwheel being built below the pond dam and the spillway falling back to the creek that runs through the farm. The Millhouse was built over the next two years from gears, belts, pulleys and shafts reclaimed from other retired gristmills. Over the past year, Stephen and Dawn designed and built the upstairs into a couples retreat. The cottage has all of the modern amenities needed with a full kitchen including a reclaimed cast iron drainboard sink and copper countertops. The interior is decorated with an open room design and has antique brick flooring and reclaimed barnwood ceiling. The bathroom is complete with a tin shower with glass enclosure.
The deck is the most amazing part of the cottage with the flume and waterwheel making its cathartic splashing sound. The Japanese Ofuru soaking tub is set to a perfect 100 degrees and is located on the deck under a canopy of trees. We use no chemicals in the tub, so you can enjoy a nice quiet cedar aromatherapy soak.
